Our Collaborative Project with Orielodl and Cadw

We have been extremely fortunate for our Year 3 - 6 learners to work with the talented artist, OrielOdl (Mr. Rhys Padarn Jones). This was achieved through the kind support of Cadw and our work as Young Custodians of Conwy Castle.

The school were asked to think about what Mochdre, Conwy and Conwy Castle means to them. From their ideas, two amazing murals have been created using acrylic paints.

The children's art work celebrates:

-Conwy Castle

-Owain Glyndwr and his army

-Swans (school theme)

-The Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi story where the wizard Gwydion tricks Pryderi out of his magic pigs (giving the name to Mochdre)

-Links with Cadw

-Llandudno goat

-Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon)

-Welsh dafodils

-The Conwy estuary

-Conwy harbour

We look forward to displaying these in school and sharing the fantastic art that has been created.
